Greece - Athens

We arrived early into Athens at 6am feeling jet lagged and tired. We took a taxi to our accommodation to find that our hotel had closed down and hadn't notified us of this! The greek taxi driver and a stall keeper were very helpful and with their limited english, directed us to a nearby hostel a few minutes walk down the road. Here, the hostel lady was so friendly and helped us call booking.com and made us some delicious greek coffee. Luckily, booking.com found us similar accommodation just 200m down the road and we were all set up at our new accommodation before 9am!

From here, we explored the city, visited the Acropolis, Parthenon and the Acropolis museum.

For dinner we stumbled across seriously the best restaurant to date. It specialised in cured meats and cheeses melted into small clay pots. We also received a complimentary dish of cured meats and cheeses which we had with some fresh bread. For dessert, we had some greek yoghurt with candied orange topping.
