Our first stop into Croatia, and the capital city was fantastic! We stayed at Camp Zagreb which is outside the main city and 15mins via the train from the campsite. The camp site is situated on a large lake and it has a restaurant which overlooks this beautiful lake. After a few big days of constant long drives, we took some time out here to recharge and tinker with the van. We were given a free walking map tour and after a few days' rest, we set off exploring upper (old town) and lower (new town) Zagreb.
Ban Jelacic Square - the meeting place of the city.
One of Zagreb's defining monuments - the Cathedral in old town.
Funicular - a 66m long train that connects Upper and Lower towns. It is the world's shortest passenger railway.
The Strossmayer Promenade with beautiful views of the city.
St Catherine's church
Dolac Markets that happen every day selling the town's fresh produce.
These are some views from our campsite, situated on a lake. In the summer time, people play water sports and enjoy swimming in the lake.
