Fardea
We had read great things about wild/free camping in Romania and decided to try it out the very first night we reached Romania. We found a spot near a lake in Fardea off a side road onto a grass track. We were treated to a farmer walking their flock of sheep and goats early the next morning when we woke up. On our second night, we found a grassy pitch in farm land and camped there to be close to Sibiu. Locals were very friendly and did not seem to mind us parking up close to them.
Sibiu
We explored the town of Sibiu in Romania's famous Transylvania region early in the morning. Christmas decorations were underway and we saw a large ice skating rink and market stalls being set up. Unfortunately the ice rink and market stalls were not open yet for us. The town had many colourful buildings, cute cobbled stone alleyways and little trinket shops everywhere. It was very cold so we tried some delicious langos pastries at the bakery to warm up.
