We found out about these geothermal hot springs from some other van lifers on social media and got the coordinates to this place. It was so worth the detour as the hot springs were quite far south towards the Greek border. We also hadn't had a bath in a couple of months so it was lovely to sit and soak for a whole day. The springs got to as hot as 75 degrees in some spots so we had to dip our toes in to test the water. There were many locals around as well enjoying the springs. Best of all, they were free and outdoors so the contrast between the chilly weather (8 degrees) and the warm water was amazing. Interestingly, the water was quite clean and we didn't stink of sulphur afterwards. We were able to park the van right next to the springs and enjoyed waking up early the next morning and having the entire hot springs to ourselves. Joe took advantage of the free water and gave our van a wash too! This place was also home to an adorable family of stray dogs who were very friendly and cute!
Early morning dip with no one else around!
Munny parked for the night. There were 2 other vans parked for the night too.
Lots of steam about!
Views of the springs from our van window during breakfast.
There was also a section of the springs that they had turned into a proper pool using the hot spring water but you had to pay to use that.
The mud from the springs is also really good for the skin apparently!
Joe testing out the different temps!
