Iceland - Golden Circle Part 1

We hired a car and drove around the scenic route called the Golden Circle, just 1 hour out of the capital Reykjavik.

Our amazing airbnb cabin that we stayed in within the Golden Circle.

Gulfoss Waterfall

By far the most impressive of the three natural wonders to see in the Golden Circle, Gulfoss Waterfall was an enormous waterfall of gushing cold water and a huge canyon/gorge. It was freezing to walk along the observatory pier as the water spray would hit you but it was very worth it!

Pingvellar National Park

The park sits in a rift valley caused by the separation of the two tectonic plates in which North America and Eurasia sit on! You can walk in the rift and follow it until it hits a waterfall. The place also has historical and cultural significance as the national parliament of Iceland was held here until the year 1798.
