On our way down towards the Bavarian Alps, we stopped at these two picturesque German towns. Ladenberg was our first stop and it was a really cute small town. We rode around on our bikes exploring the streets and loved seeing the traditional German architecture.
Heidelberg is mainly a university town situated on the river Neckar and the Heidelberg University is one of Europe’s most reputable universities. The old town is a baroque style and sits below the imposing Heidelberg Castle. We cycled across the Old bridge and wandered around the cobblestone Altstadt – the main streets with sociable public squares, shops, restaurants, market stalls, the town hall and Gothic church.
German architecture which is so colourful!
They had great bike lanes and we cycled the 3km down town from our free camp spot.
