We arrived in Lithuania after coming from Poland and noticed straight away all the beautiful wilderness spots to camp. Best of all, wild or free camping is legal here so we didn't feel like we were sneaky and doing the wrong thing. We stayed at beautiful lakeside places equipped with table benches, big fire pits and absolutely stunning views. Best of all, there was no one around apart from the local fishermen. We had a great encounter with one man who caught a lot of fish and cooked us a sample of these on the fire. They were seasoned with just salt and a lot of oil and it was delicious! At Zemaitji NP, we visited the cold war museum - the building complex has 4 missile silos that use to hold 4 nuclear warheads for the Soviet Union.

Vilnius was a nice little town we explored for one day. Our free walking tour took us around old town and Uzupis Republic - the 'Vatican City' of Vilnius which is home to all the hipster/artists of the city. We had a really nice lunch of duck salad and vegetable pie.
A laneway for people to walk who are using their smart phones - bizarre!
